hello
I have a course CD that I wish to load on one of our hpux servers into the directoryroot for the apache web server
/dailychecks/html/
I have added the path etc to the index.html for the site, the initial link is picked up fine, the problem is when i try to go to other links within the page for the course.
The problem looks to be with the way the cdrom was mounted as the java code expects a "-" when the directory tree and files have a "_". The mount options I have used are
mount -F cdfs -o cdcase /path/to/disk /cdrom
If I load the cd onto a solaris workstation vold mounts it correctly and I have no problems. I have tried to find the mount options that vold uses but to no avail
Can anyone help
Chaars
Steve

Solution
HP-UX defaults to basic ISO 9660 format which is UPPERCASE and 8.3 character filenames with ; version numbers. This is one several directories that are present on CD's. The -o cdcase option simply moves the 8.3 format to lowrcase and removes the ;1 version.
Your CD is likely formatted to use Rock Ridge extensions which covers a directory that stores long filenames and mixed case. The mount options are listed in two man pages, man mount and man mount_cdfs. If your man page for mount_cdfs does not include the option rr then you need 3 patches. If rr is in the man page, use the option -o rr to use the RockRidge directory on the CD.
That may or may not fix the - to _ characters. Strictly speaking, the ISO 9660 standard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9660 and http://www.y-adagio.com/public/standards/iso_cdromr/tocont.htm) defines only alphanumeric characters and the _ (underscore). The Rock Ridge standard can be found at http://www-uxsup.csx.cam.ac.uk/~bjh21/rrip112.pdf
