Problem with make_net_recovery (11iV3)
Hi,
I am building two servers. The install on the first server has gone fine and now I want to use make_net_recovery to make an identical copy on the second server. This I have found easy on previous HPUX versions, but today I'm struggling.
I have successfuly used make_net_recovery on the first server though.
Now I have to boot the second server and get it to see the file to recover from. I created a dbprofile on the second server and used that to boot from the ignite server on the first server. So far so good, but all I got was the menu for installing HPUX from depots - no chance to select a make_net_recovery image to restore from.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
I guess it could be that I haven't presented the image in the correct way. I confess I found dfstab a little difficult to install. I have this in my dfstab at the moment:
share -F nfs -o sec=sys,anon=2 /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/srver01
share -F nfs -o anon=2 /var/opt/ignite/clients
Also, I guess my dbprofile could be wrong, although it did boot off the correct ignite server:
dbprofile -dn test -cip clientip -sip serverip -gip gatewayip -m subnetmask -b "/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi"
The this to boot:
lanboot select -dn test
Thanks in advance for any help or pointers on ways to troubleshoot this.
David

Re: Problem with make_net_recovery (11iV3)
Ok, I fixed it.
I was being dumb (as usual) and thought that because I had so many problems with dbprofile and the new OS that it had to be related to that. It turned out I hadn't given CINDEX the correct permissions and ignite couldn't read it.
Thanks anyway to anyone who was thinking about it! :O)
