Regd sending email from HP unix to Lotus/other

Hi,
We have requirement of sending emails from unix machines to mail ids in lotus notes domain and to external ids (yahoo,gmail etc).
I would like to know how can we achive this.
We have program written using Java Mail API.

1. What is required on HP UX11i side to send emails out using java mail api program.

2.How can HP UX11i server relay emails to Lotus notes (Domino) or other SMTP servers for Gmail and Yahoo.

Please guide is in implementing this.

1) SMTP relay configuration in sendmail.cf DSrelayhostname

2)Yes, sendmail ships with HP-UX and can relay to any valid SMTP host that permits it to do relay.

Hi thanks for the info. I understand that send mail has to be configured on HP UX to send emails using Java Mail API.

What is requried from Lotus notes side to recieve emails from HP Unix server. Could you please help me in understanding this.

Sending email to Lotus or Exchange is the easy part. Just address the email appropriately. However, your Lotus mail admin must configure their mail server to accept (and forward if necessary) email from your server.
