Through GSP , you will get normal login prompt after you , telnet to the GSP IP.
Here is a sample output:

Press CO and you will get a login prompt after selection:

And Now its your choice , if you like to login as root or ordinary user.
And for loggin in as a root can be done from anywhere with any of the above mentioned tool , like telnet , ssh , putty , rlogin . And all depends on system permission.
1.You can login to ordinary user with $ prompt and do a su to get root.
2. If sudo installed , you can do
$ sudo su -
And you will get #.
