rx600 boot from EVA 4000
Good day to all!
I have a strange problem. Server rx6600 with hba AB378-60001 (4Gbit). I can't present LUN (command view can't see any WWN) to rx6600 in EFI boot (no storage listed on EFI shell 'map"). I can present LUN only after boot from setup HP-UX disk. If I setup HP-UX in this case, can I boot from EVA?
Sorry my english.

Re: rx600 boot from EVA 4000
Are the FC EFI drivers loaded? Is _anything_ seen at all through the FC?
How about if you try a "reconnect -r" before the map or map -r command?

Re: rx600 boot from EVA 4000
I have the same problem. Although the zoning is fine, I can only add the host in Command View once the server has been booted in HP-UX. Not very practical if I want to install the OS on a diskless server.
So, when I install a new server, I do this:
1. Turn on the server, stop at the EFI, plug it on the SAN
2. Add it to a zone
3. Boot it with a bootable DVD until I get to the ignite welcome screen.
4. Once there, the server's WWN will appear in the "Add Host" dialog in Command View
5. Present a disk to the host
6. Select the "Rescan Hardware" button on the welcome screen (or something similar, I don't rember the exact name) so that the disk is recognized
7. Install the OS on that disk
The bootup sequence seems to initialize the card ine one way or another and I didn't look deep enough in the EFI for a solution.

Re: rx600 boot from EVA 4000
Thanks to Oliver!
And what is the end of your story, Oliver? Can your HP-UX boot from eva after installaion? I tryed to present LUN by enter WWN in Command view and presented LUN but EFI showed nothing, and I stoped there (I suspected that if in EFI can't see LUN than installation failed...)
HBA driver in EFI is OK, all adapter setting right, zoning on the switch is right. With EMC CX300 I didn't have any problem (I can see LUN in EFI, in HBA settings, and it worked like a charm.
