Hi all. I am having a problem with sam and users. When I open up users, At the to[ it should say Template In Use: None. But mine says Removing group Removing group %s....
When I try to reset a users password it says No changes were made on this screen. And will not give me a user number. Please Help.

Re: Sam

Error codes would be helpful along with text.

A shot in the dark.

go to itrc.hp.com

Chose Patches
HP-UX

Choose your OS and version.

Search for sam

check the list, to an swlist PHSS_##### for the ones you have installed, get the ones you don't have.

Install them, try again and see what happens.

I've never had to mess with Sam's internal strucure, though over the years have run into a few errors. Patches always fixed it.

I would also check the integrity of your /etc/passwd file It might be corrupt.

I can't remember that command.

Re: Sam

If the system is trusted, it's not using the /etc/passwd.

Show us the SAM Log for the removing group command and any errors that might be recorded. What os?

SAM is a PHCO, not PHSS.

Re: Sam

I am sorry I did not state that I was running 10.20.

Re: Sam

For 10.20 you would want:
PHCO_12236 SAM trusted user cumulative patch
PHCO_17218 cumulative fix for SAM convert/unconvert
PHCO_22268 Cumulative SAM/ObAM Patch

# swlist -l fileset -astate|egrep -e "12236|17218|22268"

"Downtime is a Crime."
