When I try to reset a users password it says No changes were made on this screen. And will not give me a user number. Please Help.

go to itrc.hp.com
Chose Patches
HP-UX
Choose your OS and version.
Search for sam
check the list, to an swlist PHSS_##### for the ones you have installed, get the ones you don't have.
Install them, try again and see what happens.
I've never had to mess with Sam's internal strucure, though over the years have run into a few errors. Patches always fixed it.
I would also check the integrity of your /etc/passwd file It might be corrupt.
I can't remember that command.

Show us the SAM Log for the removing group command and any errors that might be recorded. What os?
SAM is a PHCO, not PHSS.
