Secure Shell 5.10.006 stops accepting connections
Good morning - I have a 11.11 system which I applied the latest quality pack (6/2008) to. Software assistant also told me that I needed to upgrade secure shell from the existing 4.70.009 to 5.00.012 or later. So I downloaded what was available from HP which is 5.10.006. The install was OK and I was able to login OK. But when I logout I'm not able to make another connection. They just hang; I never get prompted for a password. If I reboot the system, I can make one connection but that's it. Subsequent connections just sit there. I've removed the new version and reinstalled 4.70.009 until I can figure this one out. Does anyone know what is going on?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Secure Shell 5.10.006 stops accepting connections
You gave up too quickly on the 5.10.006 version. The only way to find out what happened is to go back to it and look around some more.

Is this on sshd? Could you telnet or rlogin in and check the syslog file? Run ssh with "-v" option to debug? Run sshd with the "-d" option for debugging? Did you have any special setting in the old config file that you should have transferred over to the new version?

Re: Secure Shell 5.10.006 stops accepting connections
This is a production server so I needed to get ssh working on it as quickly as possible. Very simply - my maintenance window was over. I had never put any customized sshd configurations together for 4.70 so there shouldn't be anything special that got passed along there. There wasn't anything in syslog indicating any error messages.
