Re: Service guard extenson for RAC

Firstly why do you need to reinstall SgeRAC?

Secondly, which version are you using/installing?

SGeRAC use to be known as ServiceGuard OPS Edition, which was formerly known as LockManager. This product is used to run Oracle Parallel Server, or Real Application Cluster (RAC) as it is now called by Oracle.
The main difference is htat this allows Shared activation of volume groups across more htan one node at the same time, whereas ServiceGuard will only allow Exclusive activation, one only one node at any time.

Re: Service guard extenson for RAC

Which version of SGeRAc are you installing?
there is a difference based on whether you are using 11.15, or any version prior to 11.15

For any version OTHER than 11.15, you must first de-install ServiceGuard if it is installed, and then install ServiceGuard OPS Edition/SGeRAC.
If it is version 11.15, then you first install SG, hten add on hte SGeRAC product.
