SG Install Media

Has anyone ever lost or misplaced the SG install media and had to get a replacement copy?

I cant find any info on HP site about how to go about making such a request.

Re: SG Install Media

I never lost or misplaced the the media but getting the media is trivially easy. I suspect that you already have it. It should be on any Applications CD set. The hard part is getting a matching codeword for the CD Part No. If you have your license entitlement form, it will have your customer ID and order number. Those two pieces of data and the CD Part No. will allow you to generate a codeword online or request one via FAX.

Mount your Applications CD (e.g. on /cdrom) and then do a "swlist -s /cdrom" looking for the desired SG version. You may need to search through several CD's but it's there. As soon as you find it, note the CD part number.

NOTE: swlist will list codeword protected software but swinstall will not install it w/o a codeword.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: SG Install Media

As mentioned, media must be purchased through your HP sales rep or reseller, or if you have a software support contract, you can request that the latest media be sent to you from the ITRC support page: http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/sum/home.do

Note that the link Torsten provided is for 11.11 2004 media so if you require a more recent version, you'll need to go through HP.

Re: SG Install Media

Hi,

Recently, the MC-SG is included in the core OS media DVD(CD's). MCSG is default comes with mission critical OS DVD.

To find it - mount the CD - swinstall or swlist and from the menu select the 11.11 or 11.23 Core OE and SG will under that menu.
