swlist / swinstal errors after upgrade from 11.00 - 11.11

we have upgraded our systems from hp-ux 11.00 - 11.11 and we have encounted a large problem. something appears to of gone wrong with swagentd. When we run swlist and swinstall we get the following errors.

swlist
# Contacting target "snss1a"...
ERROR: The expected depot or root does not exist at "/".
ERROR: There is currently no installed software on host "snss1a" at
location "/".

swinstall
#a remote procedure call to a daemon has failed. Could not start a management session for host:/. Make sure the host is accessible from the network, and that the daemon, swagentd, is running

Any ideas
cheers

Is host name resolution OK?? nslookup ip_address and nslookup host_name

IS that OK?? Did you restart swagentd??
Is /etc/hosts file OK?? Do you have loopback addresses in there??
