You should read the documentation for HP Integrity Virtual Machines:

http://www.docs.hp.com/en/T2767-90141/index.html

This applies only to HP Integrity platform.

Hello,

You want a quick command examples. Here it is from a real server, using two network
switches (one for "public LAN, and one for
heartbeat (private) LAN for ServiceGuard clustering). The two VMs are for
Red Hat ES 5.3 and SuSE 11.

Of course, you can use AVIO drivers too:

# hpvmnet -c -S edunet -n 0
# hpvmnet -b -S edunet
# hpvmnet -c -S hbeat
# hpvmnet -b -S hbeat

# hpvmcreate -P vm-rhel53 -c 1 -r 2G \
-l "HPVM Member vm-rhel53" \
-g group:admin \
-u user:admin -O LINUX \
-a disk:scsi::lv:/dev/vgvm2/rlvvm4 \
-a network:lan::vswitch:edunet \
-a network:lan::vswitch:hbeat \
-a dvd:scsi::file:/src/rhel-server-5.3-ia64-dvd.iso

# hpvmcreate -P vm-sles11 -c 1 -r 4G -B auto \
-l "HPVM Member vm-sles11" \
-a disk:scsi::lv:/dev/vgvm2/rlvvm6 \
-a network:lan::vswitch:edunet \
-a network:lan::vswitch:hbeat \
-a dvd:scsi::file:/src/SLES-11-DVD-ia64-GM-DVD1.iso

There are many similar ways and other options
to create a VM guest on HP-UX 11.31.

The documents at HP are good. Lot to read but
should help you learn a lot.

Cheers,

Re: To create Linux Virtual host on HPUX 11.31

Shalom,

Note: You can only create 64 bit Linux hosts with HPVM.

You must use media specifically written for IA-64 Itanium Server infrastructure. Your normal wintel server Linux CD's will not work.
