Unexpected Exit in SAM

I have a L Class 2000 running HP-UX11. Evertime I go into SAM (Auditing and Security/Audited Events), I receive the following error message:

UNEXPECTED EXIT: process LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -p 23729 -s ts_events /usr/sam/lib//ts.ui exited with a non-zero exit status.

sh: 23792 Bus error(coredump).

Re: Unexpected Exit in SAM

Hi,
Try moving the files in the /etc/sam directory that begin with "reg_" to another directory:

Then
cp -rp /usr/newconfig/etc/sam/reg* /etc/sam

-USA..

Good Luck..

Re: Unexpected Exit in SAM

Hi,

There are lot of explanations for this error. Try this:

# rm /etc/sam/br
# mkdir /etc/sam/br

Re: Unexpected Exit in SAM

Hi,

Again, try applying the latest SAM patches. If you have any new filesets which is not properly configured, then try this:

# swconfig \*

Please close this issue. Thank you very much. I'm going to try reinstalling SAM.

Re: Unexpected Exit in SAM

I need to reopen my problem. I reinstalled SAM and installed the latest SAM patch. I'm still receiving the sam error message.
