VirtualVault apache server restart

I have a problem with Apache server on
Virtualvault 4.5. I would like to
update CRL on my outside web server but
I don`t know how to restart server
without droping user sessions. If I
comment Chroot in httpd.conf file it is
possible to restart server with command
apachectl restart. If I uncomment
Chroot and use apachectl restart I get
error "couldn`t open httpd.conf file.."
in apache error log.
What changes in configurations files
should I do to use chroot and apachectl
restart together.
