What I like to call the 'Bunny Hat Trick'
How many users, if any have pulled the Bunny Hat Trick (3 - 8+ point answers in one day)
Just thought it would be something entertaining to know...

Re: What I like to call the 'Bunny Hat Trick'
Kind of a new "contest", isn't it?
Do you sponsor it with a "Jornada", too? :-)
But I am too lazy to do the compilation (and my internet access is dog slow, here in moose-land).
My guess would be Jim, Clay, Stefan, or Harry...
Regards,
Wodisch

Re: What I like to call the 'Bunny Hat Trick'
Let's say, between 8am to 5pm, and see how it goes, if individuals are getting hat tricks too easy, then we can shorten it down..
And I haven't thought about a prize, but maybe an HP Gift Pak of some sort ( a bunny with a top hat keychain?) - What do you all think?
Just a suggestion..

Re: What I like to call the 'Bunny Hat Trick'
00:00 -> to -> 00:00 GMT would be a "day".
That gives everyone a 24 hour day....it "may" give somewhat of an advantage to the Brits, but in th elong run the stats would even it all out.
Mike you should engage Danno on this - I'm sure they've got a warehouse FULL of Jornados with no homes.
Rgds,
Jeff

Re: What I like to call the 'Bunny Hat Trick'
I've got some perl code that fetches the `current' situation from the web, and stores it in a DB_File database. The idea sounds fine, but these metrics in itself are untrustworthy in so far, that it takes so long to update all that it is likely that the ID's fetched in the beginning of the process are already too low when the process finishes. Some people gather points from about 50 answers a day (which has a different time span in the US as in Europe).
What time scale should I use? Weekly stats are fuzzy enough already. The best thing now is the automatic detection of promotees and a kind of history (plain log files) so I can show what happened along the way to a promotion. [ Sometimes this only shows where the process went awry :) ]
Whatever contest, Europeans would be disadvantaged, because there are far more EU problems (always redirected to unusable US URL's) than the other way around. Not only my experience, but if I read the "issues" thread correctly, I'm not the only one. Wodisch even used his US ID to continue working, because his EU ID wasn't functioning.
It's freeware, so if anyone wants to use it and play with other metrics and/or statistics, I'll be happy to post it to you. I'm just doing it because you lot seem to like it. I started it out of curiousity.
