Re: Will HP reward great Olympians
That idea of something off the support contract has merit.
If your boss knew that your ITRC status saved the company X number of dollars per year then you would be in good odor.
If an interviewer knew that hiring you would get them a X percent discount on their maintenance contract that might get you the job.
HP helping you get or keep a job, now THAT would be valuable.

Re: Will HP reward great Olympians
TG,
The free forums exist so that a community of like-minded professionals can exchange knowledge, experiences, best practices, and the occasional script.
As Jim Ferguson, one of the more haloed Olympians, states: "My reward for my time is learning something I didn't know. It's finding out how much I don't know. It's seeing, exploring and learning different approaches. It's motivation to research something for an abundance of reasons. The reward is knowing I have helped someone."
In my opinion, if we begin dispersing gifts to those that reach a certain milestone, it will undermine the purest reason that people participate in the forums. I, along with a majority of community members, try to regularly thank the Olympians, the Pharaohs, Royals, Wizards, Graduates, Pros, and up-and-comers for their efforts.
This is not to avoid sending members an HP trinket, but an attempt to keep the forums true purpose intact. I do hope you agree, as you are a key member of this community.
Regards,
Dan

Re: Will HP reward great Olympians
Hi,
sorry for the confusion about "reconnaissance" - a french term which means something like a well deserved "Certificate of Merit"
I also agree with our Forum Manager...
This forum no place for "Point" or "gift" hunters!! Hope this don't make some people unhappy ;)
Although "a whacking great full house 2 cell RP7410 with a XP attached" proposed by Marc is soooo tempting ;)
Cheers
