Re: windows application and hp-ux 11iv1

You cannot run Win32 applications under HP-UX and there are no virtualization options available to do this. So, if your code is written toward the windows platform, you are out-of-luck.

This is true of most enterprise Unix (AIX,Solaris,Tru64).

Shalom,

No.

There is zero chance of this programming running on HP-UX.

Re: windows application and hp-ux 11iv1

NO chance whatsoever of getting this to work, short of rewriting/recompiling the software to run under HP-UX (no small task).

The best advice for your client is to buy a Windows 2003 server to run the software.

The code needs to be re written. .exe !=UX

Re: windows application and hp-ux 11iv1

Many years ago there was an emulation suite called "SoftWindows" but I think the last HP-UX port was for Windows 98. About the only way you are going to get your application to run under HP-UX is to physically place a PC under an HP-UX box.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: windows application and hp-ux 11iv1

Hi,

you should ask your software vendor for a special HP-UX version of the application.

Another option:
If you have a HP Integrity Server with HP-UX 11i v2 you can install Virtual Machines on it and run your applications inside the virtual machine. Currently supported guest systems (VMs) are HP-UX 11i v2 and Windows 2003 Server. Doing this way you can run a windows app "under" HP-UX.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
