bind 9.2.1 on hp-ux 10.20
Hi all,
I have successfully compiled and installed bind 9.2.1 on my hp-ux 10.20, but now the system gets in trouble when I try to use the DNS service, because the whole system was configured with the bind version shipped with hp-ux 10.20 ! I think I must adjust the different links to the named daemon (which resides in /usr/local/sbin/ )and other, but maybe there is something else, or ?
If someone have experienced such a thing ....

Re: bind 9.2.1 on hp-ux 10.20
You need to swremove the current version of bind.
swremove -i
look for the service which is probably called named
Remove it, if need be reboot the system. Then you'll need to configure the BIND 9.2.1 according to the attached instructions.
Suprigingly, I can't find depots for 10.20 on HP's site for the public domain site.
Which explains why you had to compile and install the 10.20 version. It would appear however that HP doesn't support Bind 9.2 on that OS. I may be wrong, but you'll have to check with HP on that one.
The swremove will work though, I've done it.
