DL145 fan speed, Fedora Core 4

Hi!

I am running a HP ProLiant DL145 under Fedora Core 4.

When the system idles -cpu at 1 GHz- (also under full load) for about 2-3 Hours the fans change their speed to maximum.

I've installed hpasm, but this didn't help. I also think hpasm only works on Proliant 3xx, 5xx ... series?

How can i get the fans to run at a normal speed/noise level (cpuspeed-daemon slows down the cpu if not under heavy load)? First one to two hours after boot the fans are quite silent.

FYI: The server is a DL145 G2, Opteron 246, 1 GB, SATA-Modell

To get this information you will need to install additional packages from the CD that came with the server.

The documentation on that very same cd will tell you what models it runs on.

Usually however you can get more current software by going to hp.com clicking servers and finding your model.

Hi,

on the CD delivered with the server are only the drivers for the network controller and the SCSI controller.

I've also looked at the list with the servers supported by the ProLiant Support Pack 7.40, this list doesn't contain the DL145. So i can't use hpasm and it's health-daemons who normally take care of the fan speed.
I already tried to install the PSP, but

Also on HP.com you can only get SCSI and NIC drivers.

Hi,

i just go the information (from HP Support-Hotline) that the system
should control the fan speed without any drivers!

Fan Speeds are controlled by the Systems Firmware, so my Sytemboard seems to be defective.
