Re: No hpilo device on DL185 G5 running RH 5.3
1) Look at the back and see if there is a network port marked ilo. Some systems don't have one. If there is one:
2) Boot at console, there will be a prompt to permit configuration of the ilo device with a network ip address.

SolutionThe DL185 G5 has a Lights-Out 100, not the same thing as iLO or iLO2 (Integrated Lights Out) that come in the 300 series and up systems

Re: No hpilo device on DL185 G5 running RH 5.3
The problem is that the Linux kernel doesn't seem to find it. None expected devices under /dev are created. When I try to start hp-snmp-agents, the hpasmpld component fails because it can't find an iLO device. Also the SMH (System Management Homepage) doesn't display any system information (for example, the "Overall Status Summary" says "No Items")
