Re: where is the document can discrite the details of 2.4 kernel module config-option

hi
here is some info from the kernel howto

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html

if you want info for more info, normally when you click the help button, it gives some info and points you to the documentation or readme.txt somewhere in /usr/src/*/*.

if you need more info, pls revert with details.

Re: where is the document can discrite the details of 2.4 kernel module config-option

With the distribution of the kernel source, two files which will hopefully be of use too you:

Documentation/Configure.help
Documentation/modules.txt

The 2nd shows you how to get configuration details of the modules them selves.

The first should tell you what a given module is (with a bit of finger-walking).

the 'Configure.help' file is the help that is shown by 'make config' or one of it's siblings (make menuconfig, make xconfig).

On a RH system, these are in the 'kernel-doc' package.

Re: where is the document can discrite the details of 2.4 kernel module config-option

also you can always look at the source.
don't be afraid most of the time it is easy enough to figure out.
