Proliant ML310e Gen8 / Windows 2012 R2 / Dvd not being recognized
I have a HP Proliant ML310e Gen8 that I just loaded with Windows server 2012 R2. The DVD drive is not recognized within windows. On bootup, it is seen as a Optical Drive DVD-RAM GH82 attached to the HP AHCI SATA Controller. The system will boot from the DVD without problem. Within Server 2102 R2 I cannot find the DVD drive at all. The Device manager does not list any DVD / CD-ROMs. I hae search the WEB and hav ebeen unable to find any solutions that work. How do I get Windwos ot recognoze the DVD Drive?

Re: Proliant ML310e Gen8 / Windows 2012 R2 / Dvd not being recognized
You can try with a USB-DVD to bypass the internal DVD drive. Just change in the options Boot from USB DVD and disconnect the DVD from the system board.
Also can make a USB booteable with the Download tool SB/DVD Win7. Just need the DVD media with the OS and one USB pen. Convert from DVD to booteable USB pencil and boot it in the server.
I Hope can helps
Hasta la próxima amigo!!
