Re: dec es40 scsi error

Hi,

is seems, you got a problem with a disk on your hsg80.
Please post
hwmgr -show scsi #if you have 5.1X
scu show edt #if you have 4.0X

connect a vt100 or a notebook to the console port of the hsg80 and check on controller messages.

Please provide
os version
single/dual redundant controller config.

greetings,

Michael

Re: dec es40 scsi error

Mo,

A disk behind the HSZ80, in the logical unit that presents itself to the system at bus#3
target#1 lun#2, initiated a bad block replacement sequence, however the recovery procedures recovered the data succesfully.

If this is on a V4.0x system, I believe this would be on rzc25.

The disk is of the type RZ1DF-CB, and if you had used another errlog decoder it probably would have told us what block it was and on what PTL in the HSZ80.

Rgds,
Johan.

Re: dec es40 scsi error

Mohamed,

If this is a cluster system, then these types of CAM SCSI errors (CCB request completed with an error) are normal when one of the member is already holding the SCSI bus.

If it is a non-cluster system and if you have tape devices in the same SCSI bus and try restting the bus or even just the tape device sometimes, it sometimes throws these types of messages.

It is okay to ignore these messages.
