Installing tru64 for the first time

through a terminal server. At the first prompt (>>>) everything is fine. After starting the install (boot dqb0), every time I hit once, it is sent twice. So I can't get past where it asks if this is an "installation with worldwide language support" Help please.

Raven,
I would go with Ravi, cannot think of why that should happen other than a faulty keyboard :)

Re: Installing tru64 for the first time

How are you connecting to the terminal server?

I assume you're connecting to the terminal server using a console management program or something more simple such as a telnet connection. I've noticed in my conserver logs that somewhere during the boot process, and start echoing differently. You could be seeing something similar as a result of that. I would check the terminal server settings for the port, the telnet settings and possibly the console server software.

I doubt that the keyboard you're using has anything to do with this, since it probably works fine on the PC or system or whatever that you are connecting from, right?

Re: Installing tru64 for the first time

Han is right.
1) Keyboard works fine in windows, works fine when connected to the box BEFORE installation, sux after I start the installation.

2) I am using a terminal server to connect to the box, I telne tto the terminal server, and it has a serial connection back to the box, connected @ COM 1

3) I tried diddling with the / settings (along with echo, inbound control settings, outbound control settings, pretty much anything and everything I could think of). Still couldn't make it work right.

Oh well, OS is up, I configured groups/users now I'm off to figure out the partitioning. Thanks guys.
