Device ID 0x23

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

It's complaining about missing entries in /etc/sysconfigtab of the type:

# PCI_Option = PCI_SE_Rev - 0x210, Vendor_Id - 0x104C, Device_Id - 0x0508, Driver_Name - tra
# PCI_Option = PCI_SE_Rev - 0x210, Vendor_Id - 0x10DA, Device_Id - 0x0508, Driver_Name - tra

On the systems with the Raptor401, grep for 0x1227 in sysconfigtab. The vendor of the Raptor should provide you a similar entry for their model 502 PCI card.

Rgds,
Johan.

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

i have checked sysconfigtab file, both /etc/sysconfigtab and the one smaler in drivers folder /usr/opt/RAPTOR502.

the lines added to /etc one are just the same so the instalation protces was fine.

the older ones are Vendor ID 0x105d and device ID 0x2339. drivers of new card add exactly the same lines as for the older cards. when i changed sysconfigtab to make it to VID 0x1227 and DID 0x23 it detected card in its slot, but this time it could not configure device.
my guess is drivers delivered with card does not support this model, so i guess i'll have to mail guys who delivered it to us and ask em for better drivers.

do u think card may be broken ?
problem with raptors is u wont see if it work untill instalation procces is ended, system start up, see the card and start up its drivers. until then console mode and system is accesable only on serial port.

if u think of anything else pls send any feedback
thx

Hi,

please excuse my ignorance, but what kind of hardware is this? Have you looked into the nhd, wheather the card needs one?

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

Hi,

I couldn't find anything in the new hardware delivery kits! Does the documentation say anything about minimum os release and supported hardware?

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

we got card and CD with drivers only for this one. no documentation at all (even on CD)
older ones were already instaled by Northrop Grumman, and the ones we had as backup parts were without documetation either,

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

guys who deelivered it to us said it would work on our system, i gues they will have to fix the problem or we wont buy more and return this one.

raptor cards are pretty common in ATMS systems. so is tru64 as OS platform. Northrop Grumman use it, Reytheon does, Telephonics offer its as option.

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

Hi,

I wonder, how you would install drivers on Tru64. Well, since this stuff is newly bought, it is not too much to let them confirm their statement.

good luck,

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

If the card is not listed within the supported option guide of the machine and is not mentioned within the Tru64 Release notes, why using them?

So please ask the vendor for a certification on the used hard- and software.

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

to display air traffic situation. we need 2kx2k resolution. as i mentioned we have many raptors witch work just fine, they are easy instaled on 4.0f without patching using drivers delivered with cards. we were lookin for more to set few more control sectors. bought this one to test it. thought problem might be my lack of expierience. seem to be not only that.

thx u all
think i'll post results when we fix it with vendor.

Konrad,

welcome to the world of professional machines. On a PC it is common to plug and then ask, here it is better to ask and then plug ;-)

Re: RAPTOR502 "has no matching entry in the PCI option table"

thank u all for help. the problem was they delivered drivers for old card insteed of new one. the documentation says CD should contain drivers for old one, new one and two others. but our did have just old one and some GFX one.
aftre mailing with Tech Source i got the good drivers and it works now, thank u all again :)
