hp cd writer 9100 drivers??

I cannot find the software disc that came with the burner and i am not even sure there was one.
The manual says i should have software showing up in my program files and there is none. I cannot find the software on the hp site. Where do i find the so-called contents of disc 1?
thank you very much. My problem is that my CD rom will not read any cd's that i have burned at all anymore. I think the drivers are gone.

You don't mention what OS you are running, so it's a little tough to guide you. If you have WIN2K, the drivers are embedded in the OS.

As to the software, I think you may have to re-purchase, unless someone at HP is willing to ship you some based on your Product Serial Number. There are HP people in this forum. Hopefully, one of them will tell you your best approach to getting replacement software. Good luck!
Make a great day!

Re: hp cd writer 9100 drivers??

The 9100i does not need any drivers as such...there are no drivers on the CD's supplied. As it is an IDE Drive,it just needs to be connected to the computer and when you boot up it should be detected. It runs of the Hard Disk Controllers/IDE Controllers. This is the same under all operating systems.

If you are still able to burn CD's then you must have the CDW software on the computer or else this would be impossible. If you have removed the software or don't have any software CD,then you'll probably have to purchase a replacement. If you call your local HP Support line you'll get details on how this can be done.

Hope this helps!
