PSP 8.40 and HPSUM problems
I am trying to install PSP 8.40 on a fresh installed Windows 2003 standard x86 server.
HPSUM exits with a code -3, and digging into the logs, I can see, that cp011761 is failing. This is the "HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003" Version 9.90.1.0.
At this time no NIC drivers are installed, but later on, cp012049 "HP NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2003" version 5.2.15.0 is installed successfully.
Running HPSUM once again installs cp011761 successfully, leaving me to believe, that this could be a install sequence error. Looking in CP000671.cmd, I see that normally NIC drivers are installed before NCU.
Component state at first install attempt:
Determining component installation state...
- Is operating system supported... Yes
- Is necessary disk space available... Yes
- Is hardware present... Yes
- Is component already installed... No
- Is component marked for removal... No
- Installed component version status... Older
- Checking dependency list... Done.
Any solutions to this?

Re: PSP 8.40 and HPSUM problems
Anyway, this just as a sidenote since I've been trying to switch to using HPSUM ever since 8.30 (although with limited success...)

Re: PSP 8.40 and HPSUM problems
Tried to start installing the NIC driver, and then PSP 8.40, cp011761 still failing.
Rebooted, and tried to rerun PSP 8.40 through SCCM, still failing.
Without reboot, ran PSP 8.40 install package from a command prompt with my own user, cp011761 succeded.
Seems like the installer for "HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003" have changed, so it is only possible to run it with a logged on user.
Will test to see if this was the case with 8.30 as well.

Re: PSP 8.40 and HPSUM problems
There has apparently been an installer change from 9.70.0.0 to 9.90.1.0 that prevents SCCM from installing this utility.
