AC and DC Power Supplies interchangeable?
Hi Colleagues,
I got HP Proliant DL380 Gen9 Servers (767032-B21) with AC Power Supply Kit.
Can I just remove those AC Power Supplys and replace them with -48 V DC Power Supply Kit?
Any other considerations?
Regards,
Alonso Manrique

Re: Query: AC and DC Power Supplies interchangeable?
Hi,
What I mean and need to know is whether the Proliant DL380 G9 (767032-B21) servers motherboard and rest of items can work indistinctly with 220 AC Power Supply or -48V DC Power Supply.
We got 220 AC Power Supply Servers but now we need to move them to another Site (Data Center) that is working with DC electricity.
So we would like to just replace de Power Supplies from the servers and put the -48V DC instead.
Can we do that?

Re: Query: AC and DC Power Supplies interchangeable?
Hello,
The QuickSpecs of the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 Server at page 31, section Core Options > HPE Power Supplies indicates that HPE 800W Flex Slot -48VDC HotPlug Power Supply Kit with option part number 720480-B21 is available for using DC power.
If two power supplies are to be used, then ensure that both power supplies have the same part number. It is recommended not to mix AC and DC power supplies in the same server as a measure of caution.
