Bug Check Messages after reboot on X2100 running XP Pro! HELP!!
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Save Dump
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
Date: 12/11/2002
Time: 3:42:15 PM
User: N/A
Computer: 1380-001
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xb2bc5696, 0xf5a895e8, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini121102-03.dmp.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Does anyone understand what this stuff means? We have tried drivers, removed RAM modules, changed user permissions... Nothing helps!! Anyone have any other ideas other than C4?

Re: Bug Check Messages after reboot on X2100 running XP Pro! HELP!!
You can keep this event out of the log by clearing the selection to do a dump after a unexpected reboot. (i.e., My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Write debugging Information : Select None.)
But the real error is not fixed... Take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314084 for an explanation.
My thoughts are you have a Windows 2000 Driver installed instead of an XP driver... maybe your Soundcard Driver?
Hope this helps.

Re: Bug Check Messages after reboot on X2100 running XP Pro! HELP!!
Look here at this link for some more assistance:
The first paramater 0xc5 indicates a memory access violation. Does it happen in VGA mode? Can you disable caching in the BIOS?

Also have these always been running XP or did you upgrade from 2000? http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310740
Ciao,
Greg

Re: Bug Check Messages after reboot on X2100 running XP Pro! HELP!!
After disabling reboot one of my users sent me a picture of the blue screen (guess he didn't want to write it down). It specified a file named hclnfs.sys. After some research, I discovered that this file belongs to Hummingbird NFS software. I am calling them for tech support. Will update when I know more. Thanks for the replys!!
