Can't find a disk for my Proliant 5000
I just bought a used Proliant 5000. I had one once before and set up the drives, installed NT 4.0, enjoyed it, but later sold it to a friend. I bought another on eBay for a relatively low price because it didn't include drives. I bought an 18.2GB and a 9.1GB Compaq drives. Of course I got no software with the server and I downloaded the 4 disk configuration set. When I go to set up the drive array in the menu it asks for Drive Array Configuration Diskette and I CAN'T FIND IT! I'm about to pull my hair out because I was positive it was listed in the drives section before when I had the other 5000.
I looked and looked and looked and either I'm overlooking it (eyes are getting tired now) or it's just not here anymore. Can anyone please help me out. I wish I still had the old disks that I made for the other ProLiant but they were damaged and thrown away.
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy Litton

Re: Can't find a disk for my Proliant 5000
Hi Jeremy,
If you are using the old style original Smart Controller then there is an ARRAY Configuration Utility found in System Partition (EISA Partition) that can be used OR you can download SP6263.EXE ** Create Diskettes and run directly using Diskettes ** You can download this Softpack from following URL: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/6001.html
Also remember you will need to Configure Server for it???s current hard ware configuration & upgrade BIOS ** I suggest upgrading BIOS SP6224.EXE to E16 04/30/1999 via: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/7548.html
Run System Erase with SP19830.EXE via: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/16251.html
Create System partition with System Configuration Utility SP19619.EXE via: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
Add your ARRAY Configuration Utility SP6263.EXE to this System Partition ** Configure Server with this System Configuration Utility ** Then Configure ARRAY by booting to F10 ???ARRAY Configuration Utility??? ** Then install Operating System W2K or NT4 as normal
