Query: Can't update bios on HPE DL360

I got a replacement board for my server and I can't update the bios, when I initiate the update I get an RSOD (x64 Exeption Type OD - General Protection Exeption), Once I restart the server everything works as intended but no bios update. The board's current bios version right now is 1.32, I am trying to update it to 2.96 because I have no iLO configuration in the bios and the servers fans spin at max all the time. If it is possible to fix those two problems without updating the bios I could live with it but if I need my bios to be updated I could use some help.

I am not sure which Gen of DL360 you are using here.
Some workarounds:
Check if there is any minimum version required before updating from 1.32 to 2.96
Try to do a offline update.  Here is an example with installation instructions.

What I did where offline updates but I don't know where I would look for the minimum bios requirements as they don't list them on the page you sent, also I am using a Gen9 server.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you try these steps?
Remove any additional pci cards that are not required for boot or POST.
Disconnect any external devices that are not required for boot or POST.
Then try to update BIOS, if problem occurs, clear the NVRAM and try again.

Hi,

I can think of two things here, try with other versions of BIOS update or perform Insight Diags to check if there are any hardware issues.
