Hi,
I've had a problem with the motherboard of a old DL185-G5.
I need to set the correct Serial Number in BIOS to get software works.
I've read I need to use SETSYS UTILITY from SOFTPACK SP44052.EXE, but I couldn't find it.
In this discussion I've found the possible solution but the links are old and do not works.
Hope some can help me. Thanks in advance.

Re: Change SERIAL NUMBER Proliant DL185-G5
Hello ANNAVARO42,
The link that you have shared is not meant for your server. It's meant for Microserver G7 only. However, the steps to update the serial number are as below :
Re-entering the server serial number and product ID
After you replace the system board, you must re-enter the server serial number and the product ID.
- During the server startup sequence, press the F9 key to access RBSU.
- Select the Advanced Options menu.
- Select Service Options.
- Select Serial Number. The following warnings appear:
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! The serial number is loaded into the system during the manufacturing process and should NOT be modified. This option should only be used by qualified service personnel. This value should always match the serial number sticker located on the chassis.
Warning: The serial number should ONLY be modified by qualified service personnel. This value should always match the serial number located on the chassis.
- Press the Enter key to clear the warning.
- Enter the serial number and press the Enter key.
- Select Product ID. The following warning appears:
Warning: The Product ID should ONLY be modified by qualified service personnel. This value should always match the Product ID on the chassis.
- Enter the product ID and press the Enter key.
- Press the Esc key to close the menu.
- Press the Esc key to exit RBSU.
- Press the F10 key to confirm exiting RBSU. The server automatically reboots.

SolutionHi SydUmar_1,
Thanks for your comments, unfortunately for this server is not possible change the Serial Number and product ID from bios menu.
I've just change this data in my server by using the tool SETSYS.EXE from "Setsys Utility for HP D2D Backup Systems (for USB Key-Media)" download from https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?softwareId=co_78002_1.
It's for HP D2D, but was compatible with my server and works.
Thank you for your help.
Best Regards.
