clone dl360 g4 on g3

i'd like to knnow if it's possible to clone a ghost image dl360 g4 on a dl360 g3
i know the array controller are different but the 6i drivers are the same for the 5i..

Hello Dave,

I don't see a reason why it would'nt work.

1.As you rightly pointed,5i and 6i card use same driver -> cp006263

2.Ethernet drivers are the same -> cp006641 which supports both NC7781(DL360g3) and NC7782(DL360 G4)

3.iLO is same

4.Integrated ATI RAGE XL Video Controller with 8-MB SDRAM Video Memory on both

The only difference i saw is the chipset.

DL360G4 -> Intel E7520 chipset
DL360G3 -> ServerWorks GC -LE Chipset

Not too sure if this would cause an issue.

Ensure that there are no pci cards on the target node.

It should work, just re aply the PSP as soon as you migrate the OS and it will load the proper driver for teh chipset.

just take the chance of it and i seems that there is a problem: i got a "bsod" when booting the first time...

BSOD was going to happen, So far I haven't seen any case in wich migrating from a new server to an old server hasn't caused a BSOD. What you can try is, once the ghosting has been completed, boot in safe mode and apply the latest PSP available at http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_4764.html#0

PSP Is the Proliant Support Pack which contains every single driver that the server might need to work fine.

the last drivers that is load is acpitabl.dat? after that = bsod
