DL 380 - Integrated Smart Array Controller - NT Drivers Needed (for install)
I have an HP\Compaq Proliant DL380 (P3 = before 1st generation?) server running NT. I need to run a repair on the OS. Before the repair can begin, I need to “specify additional SCSI devices” just like the server OS install requires as well.
Here is where I’m having issues. I’ve downloaded almost every storage-related driver from HP and only one works. It accepts the driver but then says that there are no disks attached.
I ran into this exact same issue with an NT, Proliant server (DL580) a little while ago but finally gave up after hours of trying to find a driver that will work (very frustrating). Because the current server is not a testing box, I need to find a solution today if possible.
RAID:
RAID 5 with 3 disks on one controller
Controller:
Integrated Smart Array Controller
Driver Download Location: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=342841&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=254889&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=24#113214
The following drivers have been tested:
HP Proliant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller driver for Windows NT (“you do not have this hardware installed”)
HP Proliant 32-Bit SCSI Controller Driver for Windows NT (“you do not have this hardware installed”)
HP Prolaint Drive Array Driver for Windows NT (“you do not have this hardware installed”)
HP Proliant Smart Array-2 Controllers Driver for Windows NT (driver installed but I then received a message about there being no disks attached to the device)
Smart Array 5300 Controller Support Diskette (“you do not have this hardware installed”)
Please let me know if you can see what I am missing and point me to the location of the driver that will be recognized by the system while still being able to recognized the attached disks.
