Re: DL360 G5 with 458581-B21 ?
in HP product bulletin is this part/cpu only fro DL380G5. So you can't use it for your server.

Solution- X5460 CPU (3.16GHz quad core)
- heat sink
- voltage regulator module (VRM)
An X5460 CPU is supported on the DL360. and I think the DL360 G5 does not use a VRM so the CPU itself should work. The only issue might be the heat sink. The DL360 uses different heat sink because it is a 1U server and has different airflow than the DL380 G5.
If your servers are under HP support/warranty don't do this. But if you are on your own and you have all the parts in hand, you may consider trying the CPU if the heat sink will fit.

I do understand what you say.
So can I use the processor from the above mentioned *kit* with the Heat sink for DL360 G5 in a DL360 G5 ?
Please reply ASAP..
Thanks

As MiKap said it is your decision. If I were in your place I would try it.

Re: DL360 G5 with 458581-B21 ?
I do have a heat sink for DL360 G5.
So can I use that with the processor from the 458521-B21 KIT?
Please reply ASAP!
