Hi,

You need to check the FAN model physically

Re: FAN DL360 gen10

Hi,

So, when there is an fan failure, the support come with 2 fan model because he need to check physically.

But, if the server iniate a shutdow with one fan failure, the server know the fan model, because according this documentation (http://cdn.cnetcontent.com/51/48/514844a4-bed6-4ffb-a2c9-7656164d9270.pdf page 27), there is shutdown with one higspeed fan failure or two standard fan failure?

Is this correct ?

Thanks

Re: FAN DL360 gen10

Hi,

Please find the below link for troubleshooting the FAN issues.

https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/iss/shared/troubleshoot_gen10/GUID-8CF0FDF5-EE73-4172-BCF2-5D7670007611.html

There are two types of FANs available for the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Server, standard and high-performance FAN modules.

To check the installed FAN model/part number details, you need to remove the FAN and verify the model and part number(there will be a sticker available in the FAN with spare part number/model details). Or check the purchase/invoice details if part numbers are updated in the documents.

If you are facing any issues with the server, Kindly log a support case for a detailed investigation including log analysis.

Re: FAN DL360 gen10

Hi,

I have already a case with a fan failure. I try to understand why in 2023, the server iniate a shutdown with only one fan failure and 6 fan operational. And the only solution from support, it's to change the fanfailpolicy to "allow operation with fan failures". But this not recommanded, to change this option (It is recommended that you configure the Fan    Failure Policy to the default state of "Shutdown/Halt on Critical Fan Failures.)

Conclusion, we have 7 fan, with high risk to shutdown for only one fan failure
