HPE - Add drive to raid array issues

Having a weird one I've not seen before using Smart Storage Administrator on a HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 with a p480i. When trying to add a drive to existing raid array, I'm getting:

" One or more selected drives are connected to mixed mode ports and directly exposed to the OS. These drives will become unavailable to the OS after this operation. "

I don't recall ever getting this before when adding a drive to the array. Is this going to nuke the array, or it just saying I will need to do something else?

Re: Query: HPE - Add drive to raid array issues

The mixed mode is new in Gen10.

The controller automatically expose non-RAID drives "pure" to the OS. Hence the warning.

You need to check if the drive is available for RAID or already in use as a "pure" drive.

Hope this helps!

Very cool. That drive we are adding isn't being used at the moment. So I should be good to add to the existing array without any worries?
