HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus V2 Entry - NVME u.2/u.3 support?

Hi,

Due to long delivery times. I am thinking of buying two of the shelf pre-config. But fint it hard to find info about compatibility with u.2/u.3 NVME SSDs. I want to add 4 NVME u.2 or u.3 drives to the mr416i-a.

- Does the included 8 SFF cage support U.2?

- If not. What cage och what cables do I need to buy to connect it to the mr416i-a?

Hello,

The model P55252-B21 you mention is a Built-to-order (BTO), and the 8SFF drive cage only supports SAS/SATA drives.  In order to support 8 NVMe drives with one processor you will need at a miniumum the following option parts.

  • DL38X Gen10 Plus 8NVMe CPU1 Cable Kit (P22834-B21)
  • DL38X Gen10 Plus AROC to NVMe Adapter Kit (P14602-B21)
  • DL300 Gen10 Plus 8SFF x4 U.3 Basic Carrier Drive Cage Kit (P26931-B21)
  • DL38X Gen10 Plus Max Performance Fan Kit (P14608-B21)

I can't guarantee this is everything that you wil need. It might be easier and safer to order a Configure-to-order (CTO) with all the part factory installed.

Hope this helps.
