Ans: At first update the firmware codes to the latest. new firmwares will bring down your server fans speed. if issue not resolved. then identify the fan and replace it.

 2. On the same server i cant access the ILo 5 utility in system configuration tab once i press F9 to view the System configuration, how do i enable the iLo feature as it indicates iLo 5 ipv4 is disabled hence cant access the iLo

Ans: The onboard NIC 1/shared iLO connector is set as the default system iLO connector. To enable the dedicated iLO management module, use the iLO 5 Configuration Utility accessible within the HPE UEFI System Utilities.

Procedure
  1. During the server startup sequence after installing the module, press F9 in the POST screen.

    The System Utilities screen appears.

  2. Select System Configuration | iLO 5 Configuration Utility.

The iLO 5 Configuration Utility screen appears.

  3. Select Network Options, and then press Enter.

    The Network Options screen appears.

  4. Set the Network Interface Adapter field to ON, and then press Enter
  5. Press F10 to save your changes.

A message prompt to confirm that the iLO settings reset appears.

  6. Press Enter to reboot the iLO settings.
  7. Press Esc until the main menu is displayed.
  8. Select Reboot the System to exit the utility and resume the boot process.

The IP address of the enabled dedicated iLO connector appears on the POST screen on the subsequent boot-up. Access the Network Options screen again to view this IP address for later reference.

Hope this information will help you to resolve the issue of your server.

Thanks & Regards...

Re: Ilo 5 on dl20 gen 10 plus

2 additional pointers for you in terms of your fan issue:

check if your server is configured with a Broadcom BCM5719 Ethernet 1Gb 4-port BASE-T OCP3 Adapter. If so, the increased fan speed and noise might be due to a known issue with the adapter's firmware. To resolve this, download and install the firmware combo image v20.26.42 or later.

if your server's embedded storage control is set to AHCI mode or Intel VROC mode, consider installing the Agentless Management Service, which includes iLO 5, to manage the fan speed more effectively.
