ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
Hi, I have a ProLiant BL660c Gen8 ILO4 showing AGENTLESS MANAGEMENT SERVICE - NOT AVAILABLE under Information > System information.
Does anybody have any idea about what this is and if it's about any problem on the server?
Will ppreciate your answers!

Re: ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
Is the agentless management software installed, the OS up and running?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
As Torsten has commented, you need the AMS installed in the host OS as tehre is some information iLO cannot get without it.
THis article explained AMS (it talks about Gen8, but AMS is the same for Gen9)

Re: ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
Hi, server is up and running, but I don't know how to check if it's installed? The server is running a RHEL. Thank you for your response!

Re: ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
you can run #rpm -qa | grep hp-ams
If you need to install the package, you can add the HP Linux SDR as a software repository for your system

Re: ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
The server doesn't have the package installed:
[root@usplsrobpidb13 ~]# rpm -qa | grep hp-ams
[root@usplsrobpidb13 ~]#
Not having this may be causing that NOT AVAILABLE message for the AGENTLESS MANAGEMENT SERVICE ?
Is there any potential problem not having it available?
Because someone reported that is not available but maybe it was always "not available" ? Thanks again!

Re: ILO question: Agentless Management service NOT AVAILABLE
Why is it called Agentless if the host needs software (agent) for the iLO to be able to detect hardware?? Seems like an oxymoron to me.
