Is that possible use DDR3 memory on DL380 G9 instead of DDR4 ?

Hi

I am using DIMM DDR3 1600Mhz 16G on HPE DL 380 G8. As I know HPE DL 380 G9 support DDR4 now want to know , Is that possible remove all DDR4 memory from G9 and just use DDR3 instead of that ?

Hi, you can't because physically the memories are different. A DDR3 will not fit in a DDR4 module

There is no compatibility between DDR3 and DDR4 RAM supported by a motherboard. There is no connection between DDR3 and DDR4 RAM supported by a motherboard. As a result, if you updated your motherboard and wished to use your old DDR3 RAM, you’re out of luck.
