ML 150 G5 Drive detection
Hi. I am sitting with a Proliant ML150 G5 with a SATA drive in. I have tried numerous drivers from the net as well as support CD to install the drivers for the drive for windows setup to start. I have tried this with the Virtual Floppy enabled, and disabled. I have tried detecting it by only running the virtual floppy. I only have the one drive in the box, therefor no RAID configuration.
Any suggestions on a driver that could be used to detect the drive and install Windows Server 2k3?

Re: ML 150 G5 Drive detection
Hi,
if you have 1 HDD, you don't need a RAID driver while installing, driver is needed only if you have RAID configured.
The RAID driver needed for RAID isntall is :
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=MTX-0dbf82cb9fd24c929b6bdb4da7&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
you need floppy or slipstream CD e.g. with nlite, there are many threads on the forum for install of 100-series

Re: ML 150 G5 Drive detection
Yes, thanks, as i said, only one Drive, therefore no raid config needed.
Thanks for the reply eitherway, i managed to find a driver which windows setup accepted.

Re: ML 150 G5 Drive detection
Hi,
If your SATA drive is connected thru an Smart array controller, you need to set a logical drive with a RAID 0, to configure your logical drive, just press F8 when you see the smart array controller in the bios boot process.
There are some documents about the software installation:
