ML310 create a mirror
When I start my ML310 with the smartstart cd. I seen no option to creat a Mirror. I'm having two 250 GB disk. I'm having SBS 2003 premium (Small Business Server). Or do I have to create it in 2003? I want to know what to do because installing SBS premium takes a while
thanks

Re: ML310 create a mirror
during Boot hit F8 and you can create your mirror in the ACU in the bios.

Re: ML310 create a mirror
Raid may be disabled by default on the system board so follow this procedure to enable it and then create the raid1.
1.Boot up the server. Press F9 and enter the BIOS setup, go to the ADVANCED options and ENABLE the SATA controller.
2.When the server reboots, press F8 at the SATA Controller section and create a RAID1 array. This will setup HARDWARE RAID1. SOFTWARE RAID1 is not advised as it is not as resilient.
I hope this helps,
Brian

Re: ML310 create a mirror
is that ml310 G5?
even if you configured your RAID 1 in POST and you have a embedded SATA RAID controller -- there is not way to use smartstart CD, this CD does not support that controller
so you have to install your Windows manually, including the drivers using a usb floppy driver or using nlite
