ML350 G8
What are the supported OBDR configurations for the G8 (ML350 and DL380)? Specifically, what host bus adapter combined with internal SAS Ultrium 920 (lto-3) is supported? Does HP have any plans to update the website with G8 support info - to include the G8 servers in every server list in Support?

Re: ML350 G8
For ML350p Gen8 , Installation of Internal tape drive requires ordering of 2nd Media Bay Cage, Part
Number 661618-B21, SC11Xe and U320e SCSI Dual Channel Controller for SCSI Tape drives and HP Smart Array P222 for SAS tape drives
For DL380p Gen8
Connection using HP Smart Array P222 Controller (631667-B21) recommended.
Compatibilty matrix should be updated soon.

Re: ML350 G8
Hello Goutham,
thank you for your contribution, please be so kind and clarify why a 2nd Media Bay Cage
should be necessary for mounting a SCSI Tape Drive (i.e 448i, 920i)
By looking at the picture of the part, it shows a SAS Backplane which would be
of no use for a SCSI drive. See picture here:

Thanks in advance

Re: ML350 G8
To my knowledge it is a incorrect picture on HP's website, I say this because when you put the 661618-B21 in partsurfer you get 670612-001 and 667265-001 which are part of 661618-B21 kit
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=661618-B21
You would need this kit if you are installing a internal tape drive
