NVMe Raid on DL380 gen9
Hello guys,
Question1:
I have recently bought DL380 gen9 and I want to set up an NVMe raid, however from what I've read, I will first need to buy PCI-e to NVME card and then put those 2 SSD's in the PCI-e sockets.
From what I've read there's no raid option available if the SSD's are in the PCI-e slots, is this true? Because I've read some mixed opinions and got confused.
Question2:
Also, where can I see if a HDD/SSD will be in the HP authorized list? I got some consumer grade baracuda hdd's, which are able to be read in the smart controller settings, however it ramps up the speed of the fans to like 100%, is there something I am doing wrong on this is caused because HPE can not read the temperatures (bummer)? How can I know which disks will be able to be read properly so this doesn't happen as the server is at my home and with 100% fan speed it is unbearable.
Thanks everyone who will help with this!

Re: Query: NVMe Raid on DL380 gen9
Greetings!
The NVMe CTO chassis or the NVMe Express Bay Enablement kit are required to support these drives.
Refer quickspecs: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04346247
Correct, RAID options are unavailable when SSDs are installed in the PCI-e slots.
Yes, with third-party drives installed, the fans may run louder as these drives lack HPE firmware. Supported and compatible drives are listed in the server's QuickSpecs, which can be accessed through the web link provided above.
