Re: Proliant DL380 Gen 9 - Starting Drivers Please Wait
Firstly, I would say Clear NVRAM/CMOS and try revert the BIOS Settings if you made any changes recently.
And check the Hardware connections.
Reset iLO and see if that helps.
Hope this helps! Let me know..

Re: Proliant DL380 Gen 9 - Starting Drivers Please Wait
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I've followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested by HP Support, including:
- Resetting NVRAM via maintenance switch.
- Downgrading bios/Ilo
- Booting in barebones configuration with minimum RAM and no add-on cards.
- Temoving power supplies and CMOS battery and leaving it overnight unplugged.
Current Situation:
- After the overnight power cycle, the iLO lights turn on, the power light is green, Network port glowing.but the server is silent except for a humming power supply fan.
- The iLO interface displays a "no connection to server" error .error is longer but pretty much what is means i suppose
- Restarting the system with all components reinstalled resulted in only one out of eight fans working and the same iLO error.
Possible Cause:
Based on the symptoms and the issue starting after a NIC firmware update from Inteligent Assist bios option. HP support said it seems to be a system board failure. doeasnt leave me with much options anymore. very unfortunate . looking at replacement mother board for this server seems to cost as much as whole server if not more.

Re: Proliant DL380 Gen 9 - Starting Drivers Please Wait
I solved my problem,
I confirm that it is necessary to reboot several times until the POST passes and after downgrading the firmware which is causing the problem.
Thx

Re: Proliant DL380 Gen 9 - Starting Drivers Please Wait
Hello guys, I want to share my story on this topic. I have a Proliant ML110 Gen9 with the B140 Array card embedded in the motherboard, so I couldn't disable or change it.
I had the famous "starting drivers" message, and it was truly a nightmare, but I solved it and I want to share with you how I did it.
First, like all of you, the famous "starting drivers" message prevented the boot. However, after reading dozens of articles, updating ILO to 2.84, moving the memory sticks from their slots, changing the power mode, etc., and also trying crazy ideas like pressing control-C repeatedly, or F9, or even starting in Legacy mode, I finally realized that if I rebooted via ILO repeatedly, one out of 15 times the system would boot with problems but still start up. So I took advantage of the boot to apply the Service Pack "P52574_001_spp-Gen9.1-Gen9SPPGen91.2022_0822.4.ISO" that I found on a website. This Service Pack allowed me to solve my problem and now I have no issues with booting.
I hope that patience will allow you to get your systems up and running. The repeated booting in ILO was done either as a cold boot or a reset. I don't have a record of which is more effective, but I have rebooted the system at least 15 times without success. However, one of those attempts, the system booted, and that was the opportunity to patch.
Good luck to everyone.
