Raid 5 / Boot Issue
Hi,
we have a ProLiant Gen8 Server with 3HDD Raid 5 - One drive got failed and we plan to replace the disk, before we restarted the Server and now it doesnt boot anymore - HP Smart Array Controller didnt detect any logical drives and from ILO health status there is a new error "Embedded Flash/SD-CARD - Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 NAND read failure" . What do you recommend to do now ? The server was working with the 2 drives before.
Thank you!

Re: Raid 5 / Boot Issue
for the iLO Nand error, follow this guide and you should be fine:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00048622en_us
now, related to the RAID 5 issue, take a look at this old, but usefull thread:
https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/RAID-5-crashes-when-it-shouldnt/td-p/6711431
Check that the boot controller order isn't wrong in the RBSU (<F9>)
It could be a bad controller or a failed RAID configuration.
Try to to use a start smart cd and go into ACU and try to repair or rebuild.
Another troubleshooting steps:
1) take out all disks and mark the positions
2) start your server without any disks, and then power off again.
3) insert the good disks in their old positions and power up
4) after the boot process has completed, insert the replacement disk
step 2 resets the controller
