Replacing the SSDs of a Raid 1 array with larger SSDs
I have a DL380 Gen 10 with HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 Controller. I should replace the current 2 SSDs of a Raid 1 array with larger 1.9T SSDs.
What is the most correct procedure for carrying out the replacement, without losing data and possibly without having a machine downtime. Is it possible to do this using the controller features?
Thank you and good day

Re: Replacing the SSDs of a Raid 1 array with larger SSDs
Hi,
I have done this multiple times that way:
Remove Drive 1 (Online), and replace it with the bigger Drive
Wait for rebuild
Remove Drive 2, and replace it with the bigger Drive
Wait for rebuild
Extend the Array and than the Volume or create a new Volume
Backup is all times a good Idea.

Re: Replacing the SSDs of a Raid 1 array with larger SSDs
Better to check it with the Admin Tool (HPE Smart Storage Administrator), which is available as GUI or CLI.
Depending on your OS, maybe already be installed, if you have HPE SPP installed.
Here you can also extend the Aarry after replacement.
Cali.
