SAS Drives constant Orange LED
Hello everyone,
I am facing the following problems with a D1 360 G6 server.
A 300GB HP drive LED started to flash up in orange a few days ago while syncing the raid.
We switched the drive with a 300GB WD drive. However the LED flashed up again in orange after 24h.
The next try was a 900GB HP drive. So after a reboot the LED was green for several hours and switched to orange on the following day.
both the 300GB WD as well as the 900 Hp drive were tested with the Array Configuration Utility. There are no errors displayed to this day.
in HP iLO the drives are displayed correctly too until the raid sync starts and the LED changes to orange.
After that the HDDs are listed as ID: N/A Drive Status: Fault
The following error code was given out for the first HDD: Post Error :1720-SMART hard Drive Detecte imminent failure

Re: SAS Drives constant Orange LED
If multiple drives in the same drive bay report failure, you should look at the hot plug backplane or the cabling
