sata raid integrated vs dynamic smart array
Hello.
I do not know what the difference is between an integrated sata raid controller and a dynamic smart array controller. Can someone tell me something about it?
Thank you.

Re: sata raid integrated vs dynamic smart array
Gen8 and Gen9 ProLiant server have either the B120i or B140i SATA Dynamic Smart Array Controller.. This controller is the embedded chipset SATA controller. For RAID functionality a special driver is required. In the case of ProLiant, the RAID stack in the driver is compatible with the 'P' series hardware based RAID controllers. Older gerneations of ProLiant used the RAID driver offerd by the manufacture of the chipset controller.
