Server Freezes after replacing failled hard drive
Hello,
i have a strange problem with a ML350 G5.
Recently one hard drive crashed en de customer removed it when de light was orange.
Then he called me to replace de drive.
So i did. But when i place de hard drive arrond 15 seconds de whole server is freezing.
No ping respons from de ESXI servers nor ESXI its self.
Did anyone eperience de same problem?
My english isnt much but trying te make de best of it
Specs:
ML350 G2
2x Xeon quadcore
16GB ECC memory
HP Smart Array E200I Controller (Firmware 1.80)
3x 1TB Harddrive RAID 5
Hope that someone could help me!

Try to update firmware for your server.
latest firmware update for HP Smart Array E200I Controller is:
Version: 1.82 Rev. A(1 Sep 2009)

Smart Update Firmware DVD

If not help ,delete the logical drive from HP Smart Array E200I Controller. and create new.
F8 key to enter the firmware.
F2 key to re enable failed drives

Thanks for your respons i wil try that soon.
My only consurn is that after upgrade my RAID array wil be lost..
Or does de firmware not effect the array?

Firmware update does not delete your actually RAID settings.
Create new one new (array) .Or try to press F2 key to re enable lost drives.
